In the early stages of the Coronavirus pandemic I set up a group to help fellow businesses cope with the demands on business from closures and the collapse in demand. Polly and I also wanted to thank the NHS frontline workers for their sacrifices and so I lead a team to deliver the Whitby Thank You Weekend, a free weekend including accommodation, drinks and meals for 400 NHS frontline workers and their guests.  We also helped the town to coordinate its Covid secure approach and more recently we established the Whitby Ice Rink and Whitby's Dazzling Christmas, both initiatives, to help boost the town during the winter months.
