I was Interim CEO of YPO where I steered the organisation through the biggest transformation in its long history.
In December 2008 Brian Dinsdale and I joined YPO as interim executives job sharing the post of Chief Executive taking joint responsibility for leading the organisation through some very difficult times. Brian took charge of some difficult HR issues and devised a new governance framework whilst I kicked off a strategic review of the organisation.
Once the strategic reveiw was concluded we jointly presented the outcome to the organisations controlling management committee. The strategy was adopted, Brian left to continue his interim work and I was asked to stay on as Chief Executive to kick off the strategic plan, establish a new board of directors, restructure the leadership team and direct the restructure and refocussing of the organisation as a whole.
I then carried out a major review of the logistics arm of the business which resulted in a radical reshaping of the operations of the business. This involved some complex and sensitive trades unions issues that were handled through collaborative negotiations.
